UK inflation stayed at the Bank of England’s target of 2% in June, according to Official National Statistics released on Wednesday. This figure was slightly higher than expected, coming in at 1.9% as per economists surveyed by Reuters. Both services inflation and core inflation matched the previous month’s levels.
Services inflation, significant due to its impact on the UK economy and reflecting domestic price increases, remained at 5.7% in June. Core inflation, which excludes energy, food, alcohol, and tobacco prices, also held steady at 3.5%, unchanged from May.
