ISLAMABAD – STZA has announced four new Special Technology Zones (STZs) across Pakistan. These zones aim to boost job creation and focus on various tech sectors, including IT, BPO, and R&D. They cover 1.4 million sq. ft. of tech infrastructure and 130 acres of land, with an initial investment of Rs30 billion. Over the next few years, local and international tech companies are expected to invest more than Rs150 billion.
The new zones are:
- NUST Special Technology Zone and Tech7 Special Technology Zone in Islamabad
- Mindbridge Special Technology Zone in Lahore
- Capital Smart Technology Zone in Rawalpindi
These zones will house over 50,000 professionals and have an export potential of $350 million annually. They offer state-of-the-art facilities, high-speed internet, and significant incentives like 10-year tax exemptions and forex benefits.
The NUST Zone will be a hub for R&D with Rs4 billion invested. The Tech7 Zone will support tech startups and SMEs with Rs15 billion in infrastructure. The Mindbridge Zone will focus on BPO with Rs5 billion invested, and the Capital Smart Zone will create a tech ecosystem with Rs10 billion in basic infrastructure.
These new zones are part of STZA’s effort to advance Pakistan’s tech sector, drive innovation, and attract global tech investment.
