Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), a company involved in exploring oil and gas, has started producing oil and gas from a new well called Adhi South-8 in Punjab’s Pothwar region. This announcement was made in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
PPL operates the Adhi Mining Lease with a 39% stake, alongside partners Oil & Gas Development Company Ltd (OGDCL) and Pakistan Oilfield Ltd (POL) holding 50% and 11% stakes respectively.
Adhi South-8 was drilled successfully to a depth of 3,460 meters and is now producing 550 barrels per day (bpd) of oil and 0.8 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) of gas. This production will help meet local energy needs and reduce reliance on foreign imports.
In addition to this development, PPL recently announced a gas discovery at the Tor-1 well in Khairpur District, Sindh, demonstrating its ongoing exploration efforts and contribution to Pakistan’s energy sector.
